It is a pain of gmail, having to delete all the spam I get in there. There appears to be not in the settings to auto delete spam, it just builds up there in your spambox higher and higher.
To rid yourself of it:
1:create a new filter,
2:in the has words field type is:spam,
3:Say ok to the pop up warning,
4: Put a tick in the delete it box,
5:Can the click create filter.
and you are done.
